10:30am – 3:00pm
Downtown Louisville
Join us on Friday, July 14, 2017 for a day of preservation fun in Louisville. All the buildings we’ll visit are designated Louisville Historic Landmarks.
We’ll start with a tour of three historic buildings at the Louisville Historical Museum. See the artifacts and historic photos at the Jacoe Store, the Tomeo House, interpreted as a coal miner’s residence, and the Jordinelli House with a replica of original downtown Louisville. We’ll also learn about the recently performed H.S.A. and Louisville’s Historic Preservation sales tax and associated grant program.
Next, we’ll refresh ourselves with lunch at nearby Lucky Pie and hold our chapter meeting. Lunch is provided by the chapter.
After lunch, we’ll tour the Louisville Grain Elevator which was recently stabilized. The building features stacked plank grain bins and much of the original conveying equipment. Learn about plans to revitalize the site into a new hotspot featuring the historic structure.
