Constructed in 1875, the Bosler House is one of the oldest houses in Denver. The house was originally owned by Ambrose Bosler, and in 1892 was sold to William H. Yankee. In 1915, Dr. John Tilden purchased the house and surrounding property for use as the Tilden School of Teaching Health, which operated until 1931. Following closure of the school, the house was sold back into private ownership. In 1984 the house was designated a Denver Landmark. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the State Register of Historic Places as part of the Tilden School for Teaching Health National Register District.
Under private ownership, one owner sought to extensively change the house, and began work on the building, removing the roof in 2008. The building sat vacant without a roof from 2008 until 2016. During that time, the building was placed on the City of Denver’s Vacant and Derelict Building list. In 2016 the building was purchased by the current owners who have been working hard to restore the house to its original beauty. The project is expected to be completed in Summer of 2018!
